“I WANT MORE.”
SO I ASKED FOR THE PROJECT.

After WMG13, enthusiasm became intent. I had built credibility inside the Federation and asked to lead an established national event as Project Director / overall event coordinator. TDR15 became the first significant full-project direction in my career.

I had managed events and budgets long before 2015. What changed at TDR15 was the significance and breadth of the responsibility. This was an established national event, already carrying its own history and expectations, and I was leading the organising structure rather than one technical workstream.

The project connected competition management with venue readiness, accommodation, transport, food service, accreditation, communications, local coordinators and the relationship with the territory. The event guide itself reflected that breadth: sport and logistics had to work as one system.

WMG13 made me think: “I want more.” TDR15 was the moment I asked to be given the whole project.

The LOC structure linked a central event lead with technical management, tournament officials, logistics, venue coordinators and press. Competition spread across Piemonte, while accommodation and transport connected teams to the correct venue each day.

That distributed operating model became an important reference point for later projects: create a central method, assign clear local ownership and keep enough visibility to understand the whole event rather than only the individual field.
